Proud Grandfather, Denis Ralph, spoke of his family experience as his grandchildren commenced school:
Our grandson Harrison started at Star of the Sea today. He rang me after school to announce "I learnt a new word today Gramps". Then told me they talked about the importance of Respect.
Harry's teacher had sent a letter to him last week telling him how much she was looking forward to him being in her class. She wrote about the names of her two dogs and mentioned her husband. It was a lovely letter.
Today Samuel commenced Year 8 at St Michael's. He had been a bit anxious but after winning the Iron Man event at yesterday's Surf Carnival his confidence lifted and when I picked him up at 3,30pm he was full of positive stories about his lessons and the teachers.
It is uplifting to hear stories that share the impact our schools that our schools have on the lives of young people.
