On Tuesday 23 February, the St Joseph’s School community gathered in the school gymnasium for the Beginning of Year Welcoming Liturgy. This was a chance to welcome all new students and families to our school community. The Year 12 students welcomed the new Reception students to St Joseph’s through the “Shake and Take” ceremony. Student Representative Council Members, Boarding House Leaders, Primary and Secondary Sports Captains and Music Captains were also presented and blessed.
Our 2016 school theme of “Show Mercy and Compassion to All” was launched by School Captains Jamie Doudle and Millie Russell who challenged the school community to always show mercy and compassion to others, and be ‘Ambassadors for Mercy’ in our daily actions.
Intergenerational playgroups are truly something special — an experience that enriches the lives of both the young and the older members of our community. These playgroups are more than just a space for children to play; they are a vital platform for different generations to come together, share wisdom, and build meaningful relationships.
