Principals Lead the Way

At the Catholic Secondary Principals Australia (CaSPA) 2016 conference dinner on Tuesday night 5 July at the MCG in Melbourne, principals from the Association of Principals in Catholic Secondary Schools (APCSS) SA were delighted to celebrate recognition of significant leadership of two of their Principals.

Phil Lewis was nominated for the Excellence in Leadership Award. He was honoured for his outstanding leadership as principal in two schools: Gleeson College and Nazareth Catholic College, as well as his leadership as APCSS Chair and as current president of CaSPA. Phil’s passion for the best educational outcomes for students, coupled with his determination to bring a strong national voice from Catholic secondary schools makes him a worthy recipient of this nomination. On behalf of APCSS, Chairperson Paul Rijken said, "We extend our congratulations to Phil and thank him for all his work both locally and nationally”.

Congratulations were also offered to Peter Daw, who was awarded a CaSPA Meritorious Service Award for principals who have completed 25 (or more) years of service. Peter was recognised for his service as principal of Mt Carmel College, Thomas More College, Principal Consultant at Catholic Education SA and, currently, principal at Mercedes College. Paul Rijken said, “Well done Peter, this is a terrific milestone of leadership in Catholic Education SA".

Well done to both Phil Lewis and Peter Daw, and thank you for your outstanding services to date!
