Schools are bringing Catholic Education Week to life in a variety of ways...
One of those schools is St Mary MacKillop School, Wallaroo. The school's action packed week to celebrate and promote Catholic Education includes:
- Launch of Catholic Education Week (CEW)
Principal, James Quigley and Senior Leaders will launch CEW with a community stall at the local supermarket and a special school assembly.
- Student Writing Workshop with award winning author Rosanne Hawke
- Pre-School Fun Day
The Reception class will join with local pre-schoolers to introduce them to St Mark MacKillop School - they have some fun games and activities planned, as well as a welcome lunch.
- Kernewek Lowender Art Excursions and Young Writers Presentation
- Night Assembly and Exhibition of Learning Night
Students will showcase their many talents with skits and other types of performances to a crowd of special guests. School Tours and Kiribati sausage sizzle fundraiser also available.
- Pirie Switches Off
Students across Diocese of Port Pirie will switch off power from 9am to midday on Thursday May 18 in an effort to reduce their collective Carbon Dioxide Gas emissions.
- Maypole and Furry Dance
Students will participate in Moonta and Kadina
We would love to know what your school is doing to celebrate Catholic Education Week.
