Catholic schools across the South West Region are having a focus on STEM – science, technology, engineering and maths - as part of Catholic Education Week.
“We started our week’s celebration with a simple and powerful Liturgy,” explains Denise McGrath, Principal at St. Bernadette’s School at St Mary’s.
“We followed this by all classes having a `Virtual Reality experience’. The students are very excited about it. We are positive they will remember for years ahead!”
Virtual reality gives students a different and stimulating learning experience.
“We linked this amazing experience to this term’s topics so the younger students ‘walked’ through the ocean while the older ones “flew” a rocket into space.
“Parents have shared that their children went home just brimming with the news of their adventures!”
Other students across the region will also get a taste of virtual reality as Catholic Education Week celebrations continue.
