St Joseph's School, Port Lincoln scholar Jarrad Elson (from the Year 12 class of 2005), has written a children's book! "Cheetah the Cheater" is due to be released in December.
Jarrad returned to St Joseph's recently to read his book to the Year 5 class - much to their amusement. The students loved the book, which is funny as well as having a great moral about playing fair.
"Cheetah the Cheater" is written in the style of Dr Seuss and tells the story of a cheating Cheetah, who annoys all the animals in the jungle with his cheating. The other animals, however, have a cunning plan to teach the cheating Cheetah a lesson.
Jarrad came up with the book title when he was in Year 5 and always hoped to write a story to go with it that would one day be published. He's also a local yoghurt shop/café owner and a dentist.
A local conference has inspired young Aboriginal students to explore a variety of educational pathways and study options.
