Each year, Sacred Heart College takes part in the annual Vinnies Christmas Appeal, donating to five local Vinnie’s conferences: St Ann’s Conference, Seacombe Gardens; St Mary's Conference; Glenelg, Brighton and Morphett Vale Conferences.
Each homeroom is given the basic details of families in each conference who are in need (e.g. Adult male/female, children’s ages and gender). The students in each Homeroom then purchases non-perishable food items, including Christmas foods, and gifts appropriate to that family, making Christmas just a little bit brighter for them.
Over 45 hampers were lovingly donated and prepared last week by students, their families and college staff - Vinnies staff members have mentioned that the requests they receive for help is ever-increasing and these donations really make a difference to those in need.
Thank you to all students, families and staff who have so generously donated items to help those less fortunate. Just another example of the Marist family spirit at work!
