At one of the early network gatherings this year, teachers involved in the Pedagogical Leadership for the Middle Years Inquiry shared some of their thoughts about what should be at the core of their work in this period of transition for Middle Years learners…

“Trust, relationship, love”

“Support as students work towards their independence and their own identity”

“Purposeful learning”

“Recognising rites of passage”

“Solid foundations from which to grow”

“Supportive environment for all students as they enter a stage of vulnerability and uncertainty”

“Finding opportunities to create joy, fun, enjoyment, community and appreciation”.

“Perspective beyond themselves and their current world”

In Term 4 teachers will be presenting and celebrating their learning and leadership through their engagement in this network at an expo at Nazareth Catholic College.
