How do you sum up what Catholic schools do in just four words?
After 18 months of listening to stakeholders across our schools – from students to teachers, principals to parents – Catholic Education South Australia is pleased to launch our new positioning statement: Raising Hearts and Minds.
This launch coincides with Catholic Education Week (May 4 – 10), a time to celebrate the learning, wellbeing and achievement of our students and schools.
Catholic Education SA has worked with the creative team at leading brand agency, Nation, to develop our new campaign.
Capturing the essence of what it means to raise hearts and minds.
The young man featured in our Raising Hearts and Minds video below is Matthew Monti, a graduate student from St Michaels College class of 2019. He hopes to study Bachelor of Arts in musical theatre.
Pamela Buccini on keyboards has worked with the Catholic Schools Music Festival for 21 years!
We didn’t know until the day this was filmed, that Matthew first met Pamela when he was in Year 6 as part of the Music Festival.
The man on sound desk, Scott Illingworth, and his assistant, were both old scholars from Sacred Heart College.
This truly was a coming together – or a ‘raising up’ – of a wonderful group of old scholars to celebrate what it means to be part of a Catholic school in South Australia.
The video reflects our manifesto that describes what we do and how we make a difference to the lives of young people.
At Catholic Education South Australia, we value the intrinsic worth of every individual. We don’t just know students by name, we know who they are by heart.
Through our commitment to educational excellence, we provide quality learning in a Catholic context, from early years to Year 12.
Our community is underpinned by a spirit of openness, sensitivity and respect, which generates a real sense of inclusion and belonging. It’s these everyday connections between faith and action that let every child know they matter.
We work in partnership with families to educate and nurture the whole person, helping them to be thriving, capable learners as well as extraordinary human beings.
Inspired by Jesus, our Catholic faith and spirituality, we instil values that last well beyond the schooling experience, they’re ingrained for life.
We believe that each child has an inherent goodness that can change the world and it’s our privilege to be a part of their journey - because an intangible piece of your school lives with you forever.
CESA would like to thank the many individuals and schools who participated in workshops, surveys and discussions over the past 18 months. Their collective voices have influenced and informed the development of this new positioning statement.
We also want to thank the Catholic Schools Music Festival team for supporting this initiative and Matthew and Pamela for bringing their creativity and talent to this project.
While the young man in this video is Matthew – it could just as easily be any young person – from any of our schools – who has journeyed through their education – and graduated as a confident young adult about to explore new horizons and take on the world.
We hope this speaks to your heart about why we do what we do at Catholic Education South Australia.
