Congratulations to Renee Rees who was recently awarded Lead Teacher Certification by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) - the Cardijn College teacher was recognised at a ceremony held last month.
"National certification was a rewarding experience that enabled me to focus on my passion for curriculum development and teacher professional development," Renee said.
"Cardijn College has been instrumental in my progression as a teacher through their support of professional development, coaching and collaborative nature."
Certification of Highly Accomplished and Lead teachers has three purposes:
Participants in the rigorous program can use evidence collected over the previous five years.
The ceremony was held on Friday March 12 2021 after being cancelled due to COVID in 2020. The address was given by the Hon John Gardner MP Minister for Education who also presented the certificates.
Former Samaritan College teacher, Lydia Sich was also recognised.
Lydia worked at the college in Whyalla for over 7 years before recently relocating to Sydney.
During her time in Whyalla, she encouraged students to expand their horizons through projects like the Mangrove/Saltmarsh partnership with the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources and site tours of mining and steel operations for senior science students.
Staff from Catholic Education South Australia, including educators from our schools, will be available at the Pregnancy, Babies and Children’s Expo at the Adelaide Showground at Wayville on Saturday April 17 and Sunday April 18.
