Leading Catholic Education to New Levels of Excellence

Recent weeks have seen the launch of the Strategy for Leading Catholic Education to New Levels of Excellence.  Acting Director, Helen O’Brien, said that there has been a warm response with a range of matters being identified that will require deep consideration.

The strategy articulates the goal of strengthening and transforming the presence of Catholic Education in South Australia. Catholic education is for all children and families that seek to support a Catholic education. “This is a time when the concept of our system of schools will be re-imagined to meet new contexts and challenges,” Helen said.

There are 3 interdependent aspects of the strategy:

  • The transition of Year 7 students to secondary structures, where this is possible and prudent
  • The expansion of early years services across regions and schools, and
  • The provision of Catholic education through new school/s and other restructures.

“These are exciting and important times where Catholic education is renewing its commitment to excellence and the creation of educational pathways for young people and families,” Helen said.

“I invite all who are involved in Catholic education to engage with the Community Paper and respond where appropriate.

“Wishing you every blessing in this Holy Week”.
