The Federation of Catholic School Parent Communities (SA) 2015 Tom Ffrench Awards for Family Engagement in Catholic Education SA were announced during the Federation’s Annual Conference on 30 May 2015.
There are four award categories that recognise leading practice across four levels of influence and impact - sector or school wide, teacher driven or parent led.The 2015 School Wide Award was presented to St Joseph’s, Hindmarsh for its Partners in Conversation – Connecting Learning at Home and School initiative to enhance the school’s partnership with the parent community. This School Award category recognises a school community that is committed to a whole of school approach to strengthen family engagement in learning and the life of the school community.
Principal, Phil Shultz and Deputy Principal, Kathy Horan and members of St Joseph’s parent community were delighted to receive their school’s award from Federation Executive Director Ann Bliss and Communications Officer, Leanne De Young .

Four Catholic schools across South Australia have been awarded $6.34 million in grants for capital works to improve learning spaces, increase opportunities for disadvantaged students and cater for more diverse learning needs.
The State Government grants — $6.34 million for Catholic schools and $6.38 million for independent schools — are for building projects to commence over the next year.
Introduced in 2018 to ensure all students have access to a first-class education, the latest funding under the scheme has been approved for four projects at Catholic schools and 103 smaller projects at independent schools.
