St Therese Receives 2015 Parent Leadership Award

The Federation of Catholic School Parent Communities (SA) 2015 Tom Ffrench Award for Parent Leadership in a Catholic Education SA school was announced during the Federation’s Annual Conference on 30 May 2015.There are four award categories that recognise leading practice across four levels of influence and impact - sector or school wide, teacher driven or parent led.

The 2015 Parent Leadership Award was presented to the Parent Coffee Club/Kids Matter Action Team of St Therese’s School, Colonel Light Gardens for this initiative that engages parents and families in their children’s learning and wellbeing, school decision making processes and the life of the school community.This Parent Leadership Award recognises a parent group or parent demonstrating effective leadership of the school’s parent community to drive stronger family engagement in children’s learning.

Parent, Andrew McKay, Board Chair, Coni Laranjeira and parent, Darren Whelan received the Award from Federation Executive Director, Ann Bliss and Federation  Communications Officer, Leanne De Young. St Therese School received a framed certificate and $500 to support future initiatives that build parental engagement in their school communities.
