Celebration of the Feast of St Martin De Tours is an annual highlight for St Martin’s Catholic Parish School, Greenacres. Beginning with Mass on 11 November, and then flowing into a special morning tea and buddy class activities, the day came to an end with the St Martin’s Idol competition.
When visiting the school for Mass and a tour, Mrs Helen O’Brien, Director of Catholic Education SA noted the children’s engagement in the Mass
‘Well done to the Year 4 students who prepared Mass for their friends. It was a moving ceremony!’ Helen said.
Fr Peter Zwaans celebrated Mass and spoke to the children about St Martin’s life of friendship, courage, service and honesty. The characteristics that St Martin showed in his life are at the heart of the children’s development.
Helen was excited to hear from Principal, Ms Maria D’Aloia about her talented staff. The Reception children in Ms Katia Pedersen’s class told Helen that they were very clever children who were really ready for Year 1, and she believed them!
Congratulations to the school community for making a difference in the lives of the children, staff and broader community.
