Nazareth Pacific Games opening ceremony

Nazareth Catholic College Primary students are thrilled to be a part of the Pacific School Games Opening Ceremony on Sunday November 22 at the Adelaide Showgrounds.

20 dance students from Nazareth will join other performing artists, sports people and community groups to perform in the Opening Ceremony. The Opening Ceremony is one of the highlights of the Games. It is a chance for all participants to get together in an athletic parade of nations and celebrate their contribution in this sporting and educational event.

The Pacific School Games provides opportunities for around 4000 school-aged students to compete in 9 different sports at the highest level. It is the “flagship event of School Sport Australia”, providing educational opportunities for Australian and international students through a range of sports. At least 12 countries will be represented in the games which run from November 21 – 29, 2015.

Nazareth Arts teachers Daniela Zagari and Druscilla Fabretto, have been working with the Nazareth dance team, rehearsing for the past six weeks.

“The students have been working really hard during the rehearsals and we are so proud of their commitment, effort and enthusiasm. They are grateful to be a part of this amazing experience and we can’t wait to showcase their talents

“This opportunity is a huge honour for our dance students, as we are the only primary aged group who has been offered the chance to perform”, they said.

All parents, friends and supporters are invited to attend the ceremony. Tickets are $25.00 and will be available to purchase on arrival on the day.
