The Opportunity

Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of youth ministry within the Archdiocese of Adelaide! We’re on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Diocesan Youth Ministry Support Officer to contribute to our mission of engaging, inspiring, and empowering young people in their faith journey.

As our Diocesan Youth Ministry Support Officer, you will:

  • Contribute to, promote and implement effective pastoral strategies for ministry with young people
  • Coordinate projects, programs, and events spanning leadership development, social justice, prayer, and youth ministry resource development.
  • Curate, develop and distribute effective and appropriate resources for ministry with young people
  • Build the capacity of leaders, groups, and communities engaged in ministry with young people.
  • Support in the creation of communications through various channels, including social media, email newsletters, and multimedia content.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, reflective practice, and professional development

About You:

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community
  • Holds or is working towards a minimum Cert IV in a youth ministry related tertiary course (including units in theology)
  • Is able to demonstrate exemplary commitment to the Catholic Church and its teaching
  • Has knowledge of contemporary practices in youth engagement, leadership development and formation
  • Has significant experience in Catholic youth ministry with demonstrated successful leadership.
  • Understand and appreciate the current cultural context of young people in the Archdiocese
  • Can utilise emerging and contemporary technologies to engage youth within the life of the church
  • Is committed to working in partnership with leaders in Youth Ministry, and other leaders across the Diocese.
  • Has a strong diocesan, parish, and school focus in supporting the development of youth ministry.
  • Demonstrates organisational capacity, meeting deadlines and managing competing demands.

The successful applicant will undergo our screening process which includes obtaining a DHS Working with Children Check.
