Role Details

St Columba’s Memorial School, Yorketown is seeking an Assistant Principal Religious Identity & Learning to join the school leadership team. In this exciting role, you will exercise leadership in key areas:

  • Catholic Identity & Mission: Lead and inspire the school’s spiritual and religious education programs, ensuring they align with our mission and the Josephite Tradition.
  • Learning:  You will drive innovation, documentation, and delivery of a contemporary curriculum, leading our school in the implementation of the Australian Curriculum.
  • Inclusion: Lead a whole school inclusive learning culture in which all students are able to flourish and thrive socially, emotionally and academically.  

This role is structured as 0.4FTE APRIM and 0.6FTE Learning & Inclusion.

About You

  • Be an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community.
  • A skilled educator and leader with a strong commitment to Catholic education.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire staff and students.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building collaborative relationships within the school and broader community.
  • Passionate about inclusive education and have experience in supporting diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the faith leadership and Catholic identity of the school.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Religious Education curriculum.
  • Promote faith formation among staff and students, leading by example.
  • Support teaching staff in delivering and improving the curriculum across all year levels.
  • Monitor student achievement, and support staff in assessment, reporting, and professional development.
  • Ensure inclusive education practices that meet the diverse needs of all students.

Additional Information

The successful applicant will be required to obtain/hold a valid DHS Working with Children Check.

A copy of the ‘Parish Priest Reference Form’ (as the third referee) which has been completed by your Parish Priest within the last 12 months.

A completed ‘CESA Employment Declaration Form’.

A written Statement (maximum 2 pages) addressing the ‘Essential Criteria’ outlined in the Position Information Document.

An academic transcript which outlines the Theology postgraduate units completed.

Your current Teacher’s Registration Certificate and Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (CESA) documents.
