About the Role

St Joseph's School, Port Lincoln, is looking to appoint a passionate and dynamic individual to the role of Assistant Principal, Religious Identity & Mission (APRIM).  The appointed APRIM will demonstrate a high level of faith leadership, a strong commitment to excellence and will foster strong community relationships. The APRIM will work closely with the Principal and other staff to deliver informed practice methodology that considers and engages the learning styles and faith experience of each individual.

This appointment is to a permanent teaching position 1.0 FTE with a 4 year fixed term contract as Assistant Principal, Religious Identity & Mission (APRIM) offered as 0.6 FTE, together with 0.4 FTE teaching load.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community.
  • Actively contribute to the faith leadership and Catholic identity of the school in alignment with its vision, mission and Mercy Traditions.
  • Demonstrate skills in promoting the Catholic identity and associated customs within the school community.
  • Demonstrate highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the members of the school, parish and wider community (students, staff, parents and families).
  • Demonstrate an ability in leading, planning, implementing and evaluating a Religious Education curriculum based on the Crossways curriculum.
  • Demonstrate skills in actively promoting faith formation and the ability to dynamically lead staff in this area.
  • Demonstrate capacity for collaborative leadership, demonstrating high level organisational, team building and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrates commitment to contributing to a vibrant, productive school, parish and community and to actively participate as part of the Port Pirie Diocese.

  • A completed ‘CESA APRIM CV Form’, in lieu of a CV, which includes the contact details of 2 professional referees, including your School Principal
  • A copy of the ‘Parish Priest Reference Form’ (as the third referee) which has been completed by your Parish Priest within the last 12 months.
  • A completed ‘CESA Employment Declaration Form’.
  • A written Statement (maximum 2 pages) addressing the ‘Essential Criteria’ outlined in the Position Information Document.
  • An academic transcript which outlines the Theology postgraduate units completed.
  • Your current Teacher’s Registration Certificate and Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (CESA) documents.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain/hold a valid DHS Working with Children Check.
