Role Details

Mary MacKillop Memorial School Penola is looking to appoint a passionate and dynamic educator who will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence and will foster strong community relationships. The educator will work closely with their colleagues, Principal and the Leadership Team to deliver informed practice methodology that considers and engages the learning styles and faith experience of each child.

The successful person will:

  • Actively support and contribute to the Catholic identity, faith formation and Josephite Charism of the school and parish community.
  • Be willing to participate in all aspects of school life working in a regional setting.
  • Possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills in developing positive and collaborative relationships with learners, colleagues, parents and the broader community.
  • Demonstrate high quality knowledge and skills of contemporary and inclusive pedagogies that promote engagement and learning for all children in a multi age group level.
  • Plan, teach and assess authentic and differentiated learning experiences using the Australian Curriculum and Crossways Curriculum.
  • Be a skilled educator, demonstrating experience in incorporating inquiry learning, student agency, explicit teaching, and digital technologies.
  • Have an excellent understanding of a variety of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Demonstrate use of data to inform learning programs to improve learning outcomes for all students.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of student wellbeing, social and emotional competencies, and catering for the individual needs of each child.
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of the implementation of Restorative Practices and Social and Emotional Learning to promote student connectedness, engagement, and regulation.
  • Be a dynamic educator committed to continuous professional learning and working as part of a Professional Learning Community.
