Join our team as a Sports Coordinator at Mercedes College
Are you a passionate, driven leader with a love for sport and student development? Do you want to play a pivotal role in shaping the sporting culture of a vibrant school community? We have the perfect opportunity for you!

About the Role:
As the Sports Coordinator, you’ll bring the College’s Mission and Vision to life by developing a sporting culture rooted in high expectations and high support. You’ll work alongside a fantastic team, including the Director of Co-Curricular Sport, Deputy Principal, and Coaches, to deliver exceptional sporting programs, events, and activities that challenge and nurture our students.
In this role, you’ll set and pursue ambitious goals, targeting improvement across all areas of our sports program—from participation to high performance. Your impact will be felt across the school as you build a collaborative, high-trust environment where students thrive both on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with staff, coaches, and team managers to ensure the effective delivery of school-based and co-curricular sporting programs that support student growth and engagement.
  • Student Development: Identify and foster opportunities for all students, ensuring that sporting programs cater to their diverse needs—from casual participants to high-performing athletes.
  • Data-Driven Success: Collect and analyse data to track student progress and participation, ensuring outcomes meet our high standards.
  • Program Excellence: Ensure the efficient operation of sports processes, from planning through to execution, so students have access to the best opportunities to flourish in sport.
  • Community Engagement: Lead by example, building the capacity of colleagues and coaches to develop the skills and attitudes needed to work effectively with students and sport.

What We’re Looking For:
  • A forward-thinking, proactive leader who can inspire others and drive excellence.
  • Strong communication skills to build relationships with a range of stakeholders—staff, students, parents, and external partners.
  • A passion for sport and student wellbeing, with a track record of creating engaging and impactful sporting programs.
  • The ability to analyse data and implement strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Commitment to ensuring safety and wellbeing through effective duty of care policies.

What We Offer:
  • A supportive, dynamic team environment where you’ll make a lasting impact.
  • Opportunities to innovate and bring your creative ideas to life.
  • A chance to contribute to a school community that values both high performance and participation in sport.
  • Flexibility with weekend and out-of-hours commitments to manage sports events.
