About the Position

St Raphael’s School is seeking a passionate and dynamic individual for the role of Assistant Principal, Religious Identity & Mission (APRIM). The successful candidate will demonstrate faith leadership, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to foster strong community relationships. Working closely with the Principal and other staff members, the APRIM will lead religious education and faith formation, ensuring that learning is engaging and inclusive of each individual’s faith journey.

This appointment includes a permanent teaching position with a 4-year fixed-term contract as APRIM at 0.4 FTE.

 

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community.
  • Contribute to the faith leadership and Catholic identity of the school in alignment with its vision, mission, and Mercy traditions.
  • Promote the Catholic identity, traditions, and customs within the school community.
  • Demonstrate highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider parish community.
  • Lead, plan, implement, and evaluate the Religious Education curriculum based on the Crossways framework.
  • Encourage faith formation and spiritual development within the school community, supporting staff in their own formation journey.
  • Exhibit strong collaborative leadership skills, demonstrating high-level organisation, team-building, and mentoring abilities.
  • Be committed to actively participating in the (Northern, Southern, Eastern, or Western) Region’s Catholic education community.

  • A completed ‘CESA APRIM CV Form’ (in lieu of a CV), including two professional referees (one being your School Principal).
  • A Parish Priest Reference Form completed within the last 12 months (as the third referee).
  • A CESA Employment Declaration Form.
  • A written Statement (max. 2 pages) addressing the Essential Criteria outlined in the Position Information Document.
  • An academic transcript detailing postgraduate Theology units completed.
  • A current Teacher’s Registration Certificate and Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (CESA).

The successful applicant must hold or obtain a valid DHS Working with Children Check.
