The role of Social Worker at St Mary’s College is integral in supporting students from Reception to Year 12, promoting their social and emotional wellbeing while fostering a safe and inclusive school environment.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to engage in professional supervision opportunities each term, ensuring continued growth and support in your practice. You will have access to professional development and networking through the Association of Counsellors in Catholic Schools (ACCS), broadening your knowledge and expertise in student wellbeing. Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will be part of an environment that values ongoing development and innovation in student support strategies. Your contributions will directly influence a student-focused wellbeing strategy that promotes positive learning outcomes for all students.
This role requires a 35-hour workweek over 42 weeks of the year (term time plus an additional 2 weeks), with occasional additional hours outside of school hours or term time as needed.
We are seeking a Social Worker who thrives in a collaborative environment and values teamwork. You will work closely with students, staff, and families to provide holistic support, ensuring a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach. Your ability to collaborate effectively across different teams will be essential in creating a supportive network for students with complex needs.
A strong understanding of child protection legislation and mandatory reporting requirements is crucial. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships, facilitate teamwork, and contribute to a shared commitment to student wellbeing.
Current registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) will be looked upon favourably.
