About Us


Aquinas College was established in 1950 by the Catholic Bishops of Adelaide and Port Pirie to cater for students from the country areas of South Australia attending the University of Adelaide. Since that time international and interstate students have joined the College Community and students also attend the University of South Australia and Flinders University.  

Located in the heart of Adelaide and offering outstanding services and facilities, Aquinas College is described as a ‘home away from home’ for 195 students whilst they are studying at one of Adelaide’s universities.  It provides an opportunity for young women and men to develop their talents, to form critical minds and compassionate hearts, and to become effective leaders committed to justice in this world.


The Role


Aquinas College is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our team as the Head of College. The role is responsible for overseeing the overall operations and strategic direction of the College, ensuring a high-quality educational experience for the students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision to drive the College's academic and operational excellence
  • Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to develop and implement innovative educational programs and initiatives
  • Manage the College's budget and resources effectively
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment for students
  • Represent the College in the community and build strong partnerships with local organisations
  • Promote and emphasize the values and principles that are integral to Catholic tertiary education

About You

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as education, administration, or leadership
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the higher education sector
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading and managing a complex organisation
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Willing to actively contribute to the life, mission and work of a Catholic faith community
