Role Details

St Mary’s Memorial School at Glenelg is seeking an Assistant Director to work closely with the OSHC Director in providing a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children in Before and After School Care as well as Vacation Care.

In this role, you will collaborate with the OSHC team to plan, deliver, and implement an effective program that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and communication, while promoting children’s agency over their learning.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • genuine passion for working with children and supporting their individual needs.
  • The ability to model and teach appropriate behaviours while providing proactive support for children.
  • Leadership experience, including supervising staff and managing unexpected situations.
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Well-developed observation and reporting skills.
  • Experience in administrative duties related to OSHC operations.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualifications recognised by ACECQA for working in a child-related industry.
  • current Working with Children Check and Catholic Clearance.
  • current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012).
  • Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse & Neglect - Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) training.
  • A strong understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and My Time, Our Place framework.
  • Food Safety Training (or willingness to undertake).
