Are you interested in pursuing a career in Education and are passionate about nurturing students academic, social and personal development? Xavier College now invites applications from dedicated Education Support Officer (ESO) – Curriculum staff to join our vibrant Gawler Belt (7-12) campus.

This is a rewarding opportunity, supporting and assisting teaching staff to meet the identified educational needs of students. Multiple positions are available with a Term 2 commencement.

As ESO – Curriculum, you will:

  • Assist students individually and in groups, contributing to their overall learning experience
  • Under teacher supervision, create engaging learning materials, provide direct student support, and contribute to College activities with student involvement
  • Supervise and care for students with formally identified special needs in accordance with Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL)
  • Assist with identifying student learning or behaviour challenges
  • Assist teachers with student supervision during excursions, sports activities, school events and yard assist, as required
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and the College community
  • Assist students with special care needs, including personal care, if required

What you need to be successful

  • A Certificate IV in Education Support (or equivalent) and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role
  • Confidence and proficiency to assist students from Years 7 to 12 across literacy, numeracy and other various subjects
  • Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and a proven ability to quickly develop strong working relationships with students, teachers, leaders and the wider College community
  • Be reliable, fully available for the advertised hours of work and ultimately a ‘team player’ with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • You will be approachable and proactive, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all members of the College community
