Role Details

The Education Support Officer (ESO) - Curriculum has a crucial role in supporting teaching staff and enhancing student learning experiences. Working under minimal supervision, the ESO assists in the preparation, implementation, and supervision of classroom activities. The ESO collaborates closely with teachers, students, and parents and actively participates in school activities, professional development, and student learning.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • - Actively support and contribute to the Catholic ethos of Our Lady Queen of Peace School and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life
  • - Support student learning under teacher supervision, involving discretion and judgment.
  • - Assist in the evaluation and assessment of student learning needs.
  • - Help teachers prepare, implement, and supervise classroom and intervention programs.
  • - Provide supervision and care for all students, including those with identified special needs, aligned with Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL).
  • - Assist with physical care requirements for students needing special care.
  • - Participate in evaluating programs and student involvement.
  • - Document student progress as directed.
  • - Provide yard duty support according to school procedures.
  • - Assist teachers with student care during excursions, sports days, and other activities.
  • - Offer general support to teachers in various educational activities.
  • - Actively participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development.
  • - Undertake other duties as directed by the Principal or delegate.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care Certificate
  • First Aid Certification
