Role Details

An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and motivated Finance Officer to join our vibrant St Gabriel's school community. In this key role, you will work in collaboration with the Principal, Finance Committee, and CESA Finance Team to manage the financial operations and resources of the school. If you are highly organised, detail oriented and passionate about supporting education, we would love to hear from you.

The Finance Officer will play an active part in supporting the strategic developments of the school, and ensure that the school can continue to maintain high quality resources and facilities. The ideal candidate will be experienced, have outstanding interpersonal skills, and facilitate all daily accounting operations including payroll, employee entitlements, payables, receivables, and balance sheet reconciliations. Proficiency in accounting software, data analysis, broad IT knowledge and general IT skills (including MS teams, email and troubleshooting) is required.

The Finance Officer will:

• Demonstrate support for the Catholic ethos and the values of St Gabriel's 
• Be highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Have highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and liasie with people and groups at all levels, whether internal or external to the school
• Be capable of working collaboratively or independently, and contribute positively within a team environment, in support of those in the immediate work domain
• Demonstrate proficiency in financial systems and reporting, with sound analytical and problem solving skills
• Have appropriate qualifications in either finance or accounting

The successful applicant will be required to undertake approved Mandatory Notification Training, and attain and maintain a valid Working with Children Check, and First Aid in an Education and Care setting.
