Role Details

The Canteen Assistant will support the Canteen Manager to oversee and carry out a range of tasks and activities to operate the School Canteen, as per Work Health & Safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities include, and are not limited to:

  • Open and close the canteen, ensuring sufficient time for preparation and service.
  • Efficiently prepare and serve food, minimise waste, and ensure streamlined service during recess and lunch.
  • Apply and monitor food handling and hygiene practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
  • Accurately recording daily takings and managing earnings and expenditures.
  • Oversee canteen cleanliness, including daily and end-of-term cleaning, and ensure proper student conduct during service.
