Last week the Year 7 students from Tenison Woods College (Mount Gambier), Mary MacKillop Memorial School (Penola) and St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School (Millicent) went on a combined Canberra Camp, where they joined other South Australian Catholic Schools to represent SA at the National Remembrance Day Ceremony.
At the Ceremony, a student from each school laid a Commemorative Cross at the Australian War Memorial. They joined with students from St Francis de Sales College (Mount Barker) and Dominican School (Semaphore).
Other highlights of the trip included visiting Old Parliament House, the National Gallery of Australia, Australian Institute of Sport and the Australian Electoral Office. You can see additional photos and posts of these highlights from the individual schools on their facebook pages.
More than 140 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from 40 Catholic schools from Aldinga to Clare attended the Ngunyawayiti Ngadluku- Ngartu-itya (Celebration for Children) Days held in November.
