Role Details

St Margaret Mary’s School offers a rare opportunity for an inspired accounting professional who flourishes in a ‘hands on’ environment with varied tasks. Working in close collaboration with the Principal, Leadership team, School board and community, you’ll be responsible for managing the financial integrity of the school finance functions.

This will include management of the school’s budget & forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow, audit, and payroll. You’ll also oversee and monitor the payment of accounts and school fees as well as ensure an effective and cooperative interface between administrative staff and teaching staff, and between administrative staff and the school community.


To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Appropriate qualifications in accounting and financial management (CA/CPA ideally)
  • Strong numeracy skills and analytical ability
  • Ability to meet deadlines and resolve complex issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to successfully communicate and liaise with people and groups at all levels, whether internal and external to the School
  • Undertake approved Mandatory Notification training and (DCSI) screening clearance to work with children.
  • Ability to demonstrate practical support for the Catholic Ethos.

  • Current and acceptable Working with Children Clearance and screening to work in Catholic Education SA
  • Current valid Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care certificate
