Role Details

Xavier College now invites applications from diploma qualified and unqualified OSHC Educators to join our Evanston and Two Wells OSHC services in casual positions, commencing January 2025. 

The Opportunity

Our OSHC services, located in Two Wells and Evanston, are seeking both qualified and unqualified Educators to support in maintaining a nurturing learning environment and delivering engaging programs for the children in our care. 

This is a great opportunity for someone considering a career in education and/or looking for flexible working hours around study commitments.  

About you

We’re looking for passionate Educators who are positive, enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about working with children and creating a safe, welcoming space for them to grow. You’ll be a team player who thrives in a fun, dynamic environment and is eager to support the educational development and well-being of children. We value individuals who bring energy, creativity, and a genuine interest in making a positive impact on young lives.

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays)
  • Before School: 6.30am – 9.00am
  • After School: 2.30pm – 6.30pm
  • Pupil Free Days: 6.30am – 6.30pm
  • Vacation care (Evanston campus only):  6.30am – 6.30pm

What you need to be successful

  • Current Working With Children Clearance
  • Current approved First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012) 
  • Responding to the Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect Training (RRHAN-EC)
  • Safe Food Handling training 
  • Ability to work with individual children with particular needs
  • Demonstrated ability to model and teach appropriate behaviours and provide proactive support for children as they learn
  • Willingness to be flexible and complete duties as required
  • Highly developed observation and reporting skills

Qualified Educators must hold:

  • hold a Diploma in child related studies or approved qualifications for working in South Australian OSHC services under ACECQA guidelines or; 
  • evidence of 3rd or 4th year of studying a Bachelor of Education
