Are you seeking a supportive and collaborative, team-centric environment where you can apply trade knowledge and technical trade skills? 

Xavier College now invites applications from qualified Trade personnel to work across our multi-campus College, contributing to the ongoing development and maintenance of grounds, facilities, plant and equipment. We are currently seeking a permanent, full-time Tradesperson to join our expanding property services team, working under the direction of the Facilities Operations Manager.

As Tradesperson you will:

  • Undertake general property repairs and routine maintenance work operating a variety of power tools and equipment within College resources
  • Apply trade skills for specific required projects 
  • Exercise high precision trade skills using a variety of materials and specialised techniques with confidence
  • Maintain College grounds to an appropriate standard, supporting other Property Services / Maintenance team members
  • Undertake general gardening and grounds duties, as required

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold recognised trade qualification/s in carpentry or landscaping 
  • Be an 'all-rounder'
  • Demonstrate building or trade industry experience including the ability to operate power tools to undertake general trade construction, maintenance and repairs duties 
  • Think critically and creatively to solve problems, adapt to change and respond to demanding work with a positive attitude
  • Have an ability to work autonomously to successfully achieve desired tasks within strict timelines, but also work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Comprehend instructions quickly and respond appropriately
