St Mary Magdalene’s School at Elizabeth Park is working in exciting ways with Italian and Performing Arts lessons. Language & Arts learning activities are integrating using bilingual texts and cultural practices with music, drama and dance.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Focus Teacher Program: Leadership and Learning Day was held at Tauondi Aboriginal Community College on 13 March. The CESA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Policy Statement and documentation underscores the exciting program planned for 2015.
Nazareth Catholic Community’s Outreach, in partnership with Rotary, has achieved a great deal in aid projects. These include the construction and furnishing of a Birthing Clinic, the purchase of a Mobile Health Clinic 4WD vehicle, and the shipping of three containers full of desperately needed supplies to Timor-Leste.

Thanks to the City of Charles Sturt and the OPAL Obesity, Prevention and Lifestyle program, Nazareth Primary campus has this equipment to use for the next month, and each class will have a turn in using it.

Successfully completing Year 12 and all of the requirements of SACE provides a very solid base on which young people can build a career and further study. Catholic Education SA was very pleased to learn that 97% of 2014 SACE stage 2 participants (3593 students) completed all of the requirements of SACE. Furthermore 98% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students (39 students) successfully completed their SACE. We congratulate students, staff and families on these achievements.
After winning a Parent Initiatives in Education (PIE) grant through the Federation of Catholic School Parent Communities and much organising, the St Columba’s Parents and Friends held a breakfast for students, parents and other invited guests on Monday morning, 23 February.
