The Marine Discovery Centre, Star of the Sea School, Henley Beach is delighted to win a grant to develop a program to train Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal young adults to become Marine Trail Leaders. The Training will involve teaching skills, communication skills and acquiring relevant knowledge. It will also involve a knowledge of Marine Trails so that the trainees can inform our visitors about the direct relationship between catchments and the coast.
Cans For Kids Project has evolved out of the fundraising efforts of Year 5/6 students at Our Lady of Hope School. All kinds of recyclables are collected daily, cleaned and sorted before selling them to raise money to support the education of Indonesian children in need. Their teacher Pat Kerkenaar travels to Indonesia where she establishes projects with the funds raised.
St. Joseph's, Murray Bridge recently held a special assembly for a Year 3 student. At the assembly Kyla was awarded the Prime Ministers NAIDOC Week Medal of Excellence for her entry in the NAIDOC Week colouring in competition.
The 27th Annual Catholic Schools Music Festival took place on the 21 to 24 September 2015 at the Adelaide Festival Theatre. The theme of the four nights of performances was dedicated to the music from the 1910s, 20s, 30s & 40s commemorating one hundred years since the Gallipoli landings and 70 years since WWII ended.

Frank Colagrossi, a class teacher from St Joseph's Tranmere has been awarded a National Teaching Award 2015 sponsored by the Commonwealth Bank. The application required a 600 word submission based on 3 set criteria, involving any business type activity that promotes financial literacy. Frank chose small business stalls.

Minister for Education and Child Development in South Australia, The Hon Susan Close, met with school leaders at Directors’ Day on Friday 28 August 2015.
